As a result of the efforts of the Pennsylvania Avenue East Community Coalition (PAECC), the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) awarded a Pennsylvania Avenue East Main Street Program grant in the amount of $200,000 to the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization and Ward 7 Business Partnership.
During the FY 2021 Budget Cycle, PAECC submitted a Budget Ask to Ward 7 Councilmember Vincent Gray, submitted written testimony and testified at DC Budget Hearings, and sent letters to the Mayor, City Council, and other DC Government officials to garner support for a Pennsylvania Main Street Program.
PAECC successfully gained the support of Councilmember Gray; John Falcicchio, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development; and Kenyan McDuffie, Ward 5 Councilmember and Chair, Committee of Business and Economic Development, to support and fund a Main Street Program for the Pennsylvania Avenue East Corridor.
